I chose my brother as my mentor for a variety of reasons. Firstly, he's read so many fantasy books that I knew I could go to him when I find myself in a rut. Secondly,  I knew he would be easily accessible to me. Finally, I know my brother will be honest with me and critique me harsher than most, which I appreciate. 

 

Minhajul is 25-years-old and received a bachelor's degree from The Ohio State University in Computer Science. He was born in Bangladesh in 1993 and came to the United States in 1995.

 

He's influenced me as a student by toughening my skin. He's given me advice throughout the journey and aided me in improving aspects of the novel's storyline.

 

I've learned that I cannot simply write a book. He's taught me which parts of a book or scene I need to emphasize and how to pace a certain sequence of events. Without these tips, I'm sure the book would be worse off.
